Initial Situation
Pamela Krahn, owner of time2wax.de, approached me last October 2023 regarding the local SEO of her website. Below, I describe her initial situation.
No Top 3 Google Maps Ranking

She was not placed in the Top 3 results on Google Maps, even though her URL already had good prerequisites due to the included keywords (see average ranking on Google Maps). The ranking check was conducted on bookedoutdentist.

She was also not listed on the first page of Google under the desired keywords. As a result, website traffic was very low, which had not yet led to any contact inquiries. In summary, the site had the following problems:

What is Local SEO anyway?
Optimization for local search engines (Local SEO) is essential for businesses that want to attract a local clientele. Local SEO differs in some aspects from general SEO strategy and aims to rank higher in local search results.
The Solution:
Below, I explain our approach to improving Pamela's website SEO. This consists of three essential steps:
1. Identifying SEO Potentials
Keyword research: First, we conducted keyword research to find relevant local keywords that Toni's target group uses.
Competitor analysis: Then we looked at her local competitors. What are they doing well in terms of SEO and what can we do better?
2. Implementing SEO Potentials
a. Google My Business (GMB) Optimization
Create/claim account: We created a Google My Business account or claimed an existing one to keep everything up to date.
Complete information: We provided all relevant information. Opening hours, location, contact info—everything you need to know.
Business directory entries: All relevant entries for the industry.
Collecting reviews: With many satisfied customers, we encouraged her clients to leave reviews.
b. On-Page SEO
Optimize meta tags: We added local keywords to meta titles, descriptions, and H1 tags.
NAP consistency: We ensured that her business name, address, and phone number (NAP) were consistent on her website and across the web.
Local content: We created content relevant to her local target audience, such as blog posts about local events, news, or activities.
Schema markup: Additionally, we added relevant schema markups to give search engines more context about Toni's business.
b. Off-Page SEO
Local backlinks: We added backlinks from local websites, blogs, or news sites.
Social media: Additionally, we used social media to promote her local engagement.
3. SEO Monitoring and Adjustment
Check rankings: We used Google Analytics and Google Search Console to monitor the traffic and ranking of her website.
Make adjustments: Based on the collected data, we adjusted the strategy accordingly.
Customer feedback: Through feedback from her customers, we made necessary changes to improve their experience.

Through the steps described, we achieved the following results in eight months.
