Conclusion

Initial Situation Toni Bonfiglio, a personal trainer from Ludwigsburg (website), contacted me last July 2023 regarding the local SEO of his website. Below I describe his initial situation. Initial situation of Toni Bonfiglio’s website before Local SEO

Low Google Maps Ranking Results of the Google Maps ranking before Local SEO The site did not even rank in the top 20 results on Google Maps, even though his URL already had good prerequisites due to the included keywords (see average ranking on Google Maps). The ranking was conducted on bookedoutdentist.

Low Website Traffic He was also not listed on the first page of Google under the desired keywords. As a result, website traffic on his site was very low, which had not yet led to any contact inquiries. In summary, the site had the following problems:

Problem 1

Google Maps ranking worse than position 30

Problem 2

Google ranking not on the first page

Problem 3

Little website traffic

How did we manage to rank #1? What is Local SEO anyway? Optimization for local search engines (Local SEO) is essential for businesses that want to attract a local clientele. Local SEO differs in some aspects from general SEO strategy and aims to rank higher in local search results. The solution: Below I explain our approach to improving the SEO of Toni’s website. This consists of three essential steps: 1. Identifying SEO Potentials Keyword Research: First, we conducted keyword research to find relevant local keywords that Toni’s target group uses. Competitor Analysis: Then we looked at his local competitors. What are they doing well in terms of SEO and what can we do better? 2. Implementing SEO Potentials

a. Google My Business (GMB) Optimization

Create/claim account: We create a Google My Business account or claim an existing one to keep everything up to date. Complete information: We provided all relevant information. Opening hours, location, contact info – everything you need to know. Business directory entries: All relevant entries for the industry. Collect reviews: With many satisfied customers, we encouraged his clients to leave reviews.

b. On-Page SEO

Optimize meta tags: We added local keywords to meta titles, descriptions, and H1 tags. NAP consistency: We ensured that his business name, address, and phone number (NAP) are consistent on his website and across the web. Local content: We created content relevant to his local target audience, such as blog posts about local events, news, or activities. Schema Markup: Additionally, we added relevant schema markups to give search engines more context about Toni’s business.

b. Off-Page SEO

Local backlinks: We added backlinks from local websites, blogs, or news sites. Social media: Additionally, we used social media to promote his local engagement. 3. SEO Monitoring and Adjustment Check rankings: We used Google Analytics and Google Search Console to monitor the traffic and ranking of his website. Make adjustments: Based on the collected data, we adjusted the strategy accordingly. Customer feedback: Through feedback from his clients, we made necessary changes to improve their experience. The Result Through the steps described, we achieved the following results in under two months.

1 In Google search results to top ranking (↑20 positions) 2 In Google Maps to an average position from 20 to 4 (↑16 positions) 3 Over 1,200 impressions (↑68%) and almost 100 (↑30%) clicks

Improve Local SEO Now

Here is the evidence: Google search results: Rank 1 after just a few weeks. Google Maps: Here we were able to outperform some competitors who had higher website authority and dominance. Website traffic: Website traffic has visibly increased.

Conclusion
Local SEO is not magic, but it requires a mix of careful planning, execution, and constant adjustment. With a versatile approach that ranges from serious research to entertaining social media engagement, we position ourselves as the go-to SEO business. By combining on-page and off-page SEO strategies, a well-maintained Google My Business profile, and an eye for local partnerships, we are well equipped to rank highly both in search engines and in the community. Now there are no more excuses – we have the plan, now we just need to get started. On to new SEO heights and local fame!
